Miss. court to decide if pet food maker must give research documents to PETA
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Supreme Court will hear dozens of cases during the January-February term including one involving pet food manufacturer The Iams Company and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The Iams Company contends Mississippi State University research documents it has been ordered to give PETA are trade secrets and not public record.
Iams and the university have appealed Chancery Judge Dorothy Colom's adverse decision to the Mississippi Supreme Court.
The court will not hear oral arguments in the cases. The justices will instead rely on attorneys' briefs to make their decisions.
